In daily life, air cylinder parts are often used in many applications, which can help to reduce labors and increase productivity. The proper installation and use of air cylinder device also can prolong the service life of equipments. Then what should be paid attention to when engineers install air cylinder equipment? Requirement for the size
The good air cylinder with appropriate size can play the best role in the application. Small sizing may be cheaper, but it cannot provide the required force or performance for a given load. Of course, it does not mean that bigger is better, because oversized air cylinder need more cost and air capacity to function. So, the engineer should consider some requirements in the application such as air pressure, friction and dynamic requirements etc.
Requirements for the use environment
Generally speaking, when the magnetic switch is equipped, if the ambient temperature and medium temperature of the air cylinder components exceed -10~60℃, the engineer should take anti-freezing or heat-resistant measures. In a strong magnetic field environment, a pneumatic air cylinder with an automatic switch resistant to strong magnetic field should be used. What is more, the standard air cylinder shall not be used in corrosive mist or in the mist that is bubbled using a sealing ring.
Regarding the load of the cylinder
Generally, the piston rod can only bear axial load. When mounting, try to avoid applying lateral load and eccentric load on the piston rod. When there is a lateral load, a guide device should be added to the piston rod, or a cylinder with a guide rod should be used. When the load direction changes, it is best to use a floating joint between the front end of the piston rod and the load. When the cylinder is stressed, the installation table of the cylinder must have measures to prevent loosening, deformation and damage. In addition, when installing a fixed air cylinder, the load should be consistent with the axis of the piston rod. When installing the earring type cylinder, ensure that the swing plane of the cylinder and the swing of the load are in the same plane.
Regarding to the lubrication of the cylinder
Cylinders lubricated with oil should be equipped with a lubricator with appropriate flow. If the cylinder is pre-filled with grease, it is not lubricated with oil and it can be used for a long time. This kind of cylinder can also be used lubricated oil, but once the oil is supplied, the oil supply must not be stopped. At the same time, please note that engine oil, spindle oil etc. should not be used in order to avoid double swelling of seals.
Regarding to speed adjustment of the cylinder
When using the speed control valve to adjust the speed of the cylinder, the air cylinder throttle valve should be gradually opened from the fully closed state to the desired speed. The number of adjustment turns does not exceed the maximum number of turns.
